.Can you really buy a cheap bike in Berlin that is actually pretty good? With the semi-automatic transmission and Shimano equipment? In Berlin, one of the most popular cities in Europe?

Yes, you can. But you need to wait for the right deal. And here’s a few tips on how I managed to get an amazing bicycle in Berlin for just 70 EUR + extra equipment.

First of all, don’t rush it. Wait for the right deal to appear and you will find something in a week or two.
Second, make sure to inspect the bike before buying. Do a test drive, make sure there are no unusual weird noises.
Third, try to lower the price. You can always ask and you might get lucky and get it for an even cheaper price.

And those are the first steps to buy a cheap bike in Berlin

Maintenance is something to also take into consideration. Make sure to have some chain lube and WD-40 for cleaning the chain and lubing moving parts on your bike.

The overall cost of the bike + extra equipment (Front and back lights, tyre-pump, lock cell-phone holder and a small bell was around 130 EUR which is still an amazing price. But without the extras and buying just the pump and the lights would still be UNDER 100 EUR.

Make sure to check out how to buy an amazing work desk and chair for under 100 EUR in Berlin.

The original price for this bike is 400-500 EUR 🙂 Think twice if you really need a bike straight out of the shop! You can easily save hundreds of euros simply by scouting the social media. Another great option is to look for websites specializing in selling used bikes.
